Radio App Reviews
I listen to streaming radio almost every day and had always used a browser and left a tab open. Wanting to be able to set up a recording of a specific show led me to finding this app and I couldn’t be more pleased. I contacted the developer to add a station and the response was extremely fast. I believe I’m able to add additional stations myself, just awaiting a reply to confirm. If you listen to streaming radio whatsoever you need this app.
Killer App
Minimal, powerful, simple… this is my favourite app for the Radio. The best function is stream adding for every radio!
Has a very limited library of stations in the US. Stations available are mostly obscure and useless. Tried to add to library—don’t have the information required to request an addition. It’been a while since I’ve paid for software this useless. Can’t use it for anything!
Thought it would be easier for me to tune into Internet Radio Streams by using this app. Unfortunately only few of Stations are actually working.... Very disappointing and way to expensive
Simple, minimalist design. It really does feel like this app should be built right into OS. Excellent customer service: one of the radio stations I listen to was not in the list but the developers helped me extract the URL stream and now I can listen to it. Highly recommended if you are looking for a simple radio app that lives in the menu bar.
I love being able to switch stations from the menu bar. So much more convenient than using iTunes to listen to internet radio, or going to the stations website. Great little app, worth the buy.
gulable
Total waste of $7 . Station list is very poor.
Excelent App
I love it. I come from FStream app and this nicely replaced it. Good support as well.
Solid App for recording internet radio
app works with ‘notification … I am VERY impressed… THANK YOU… !!! quick turnaround on customer service… 5 stars…
Beautiful Simple Elegant!
A beautiful radio player / recorder that integrates seamlessly into your mac.
You market this app as playing ANY streaming radio station but it does not. I want to play DC 101 and your app does not pick up that stations streaming. I was suspicious before purchasing this application and now I know my suspicion was correct. This is false advertisement and I demand you reimburse me for it.
I purchased Radio based on the description on their website. Radio won’t even play the stations that are already in the program, that I want to listen to. Somehow, it never connects to the station. Want to add your own internet radio station. FORGET IT! It won’t play either!
Its good but it does not support the RTMP. That is a problem for me since many radio channels I like stream using RTMP. I hope if developer RTMP support, if that done then it will be a 5 star App.
Not familiar with earlier versions. But this does a great job fo me. The only issue might be that there should be some warning when you purchase the app that it only shows up in the right hand corner by the date. But once you realize that it does exactly what it advertizes. How many apps do that? The best part is how professional the developers are.
I should have assumed there was no AirPlay support since it wasn’t mentioned, but since no one complained about the lack of AirPlay support, I assumed it was there. After all, that’s OBVIOUSLY something any half-way decent music streaming app will support. Anyhow, it doesn’t. The built-in station list is also woefully out of date. So if you do use this software, be sure to manually add the stations that you want to listen to based on current URLs. Radio may have the station in your database, with a URL that hasn’t worked for half a decade.
I’m so happy to find this app. It covers all a radio listener’s needs while remaining simple, straightforward and elegant. I used to use Radium, but it’s no where near as simple. I love the way Radio uses iCloud to sync favorites across devices. The recording feature is also equally straightforward and useful.
Almost perfect.
If one is looking to listen to and /or record tuneage it doesnt get any easier than this.
This app is supposed to record a radio station and after trying over and over and over it just completely failed. I’ll be contacting Apple and asking for a refund
Ive been looking for an affordable and easy way to listen, and most importantly record a stream. Audacity was crazy complicated and other programs were too expensive. Radio is PERFECT! I listen to 2 hydrophone streams broadcasting underwater off San Juan Island, Washington. Theyre especially important because the native Orca whale population is endangered (theyre called the Southern Resident Killer Whales), so a lot of people pay attention to them. Its really important to be able to record any time we hear their vocalizations, along with any boat noise pollution occurring at the same time, as it interferes with their communication. Radio is going to be doing very important work!
